Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while dedicating a train from Katra to Mata Vaishno devi in Jammu , gave indications that soon private players could be seen contributing towards modernisation of railway facilities, modernisation of platforms and railways. Modi further added that, we have a dream to make railway a better place than airport.
Modi has discussed about plans and private participation through investments and contribution towards econonomic progress of the nation. It will be a win-win situation, Modi added.
He said he has already discussed the discussed the issue in detail with railways and “you will see a change in near future. We will work it out soon.”
Modi said the railway stations in metros and important cities such as Jammu would be a priority for the government with regard to development of railway stations.Railways has been incurring a loss of about Rs 900 crore per month in passenger segment and has been looking for options for infusion of funds for modernisation.
