Narayan Rane submits resignation to Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan

Today, Narayan Rane, Maharashtra’s Industries Minister and  Congress leader  has submitted his resignation to Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan . Dissatisfied Rane had declared his intention of submitting his resignation. However, he made it clear to be with the party. Rane has unhappiness with Congress High Command as his demands to restructure before upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra. He is firm with his resignation and not in the mood to revoke his decision. Party is trying to persuade Rane. He feels his efforts have not been recognised and he is not considered for Chief Ministership.  Rane would be holding a press conference to interact with media and people.

Earlier also he had offered his resignation in May 2014 when his son Nilesh Rane was defeated by Shiv Sena candidate Vinayak Raut by 1.5 lakh votes in Lok Sabha elections.Rane had served as CM for 9 months while in Shiv Sena in 1999, when the NDA government was at the helm of affairs in Maharashtra. In 2005, soon after joining Congress, he was inducted as a minister in the Vilasrao Deshmukh’s ministry. Rane joined Congress with expectation of becoming CM.
