Muslim League challenges citizenship bill in Supreme Court

The Indian Union Muslim League moved the Supreme Court on Thursday challenging the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, a day after it was passed in the Rajya Sabha completing the legislative process for giving Indian citizenship to non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Citizenship Amendment Bill to be law as Rajya Sabha passes it with 125 versus 99 votes.  Indefinite curfew and Army imposed in Guwahati.

Today, one of the absconders in Reveune Talati scam of Gujarat, Anil Navinchandra Mevada was arrested by police. Mevada had fixed a deal for Rs 5 lakhs with Nishal Shah, to be paid after clearing the exam. He had given 20 call letters to Shah. He was absconding since 20th February 2014.
