Mumbai-Delhi flight diverted to Ahmedabad after bomb threat
Last night Jet Airways’ Mumbai to Delhi Flight number 9W339, after took off from Mumbai airport at 2:55 am landed at Ahmedabad airport at around 3:45 am.
A passenger onboard said the flight to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad citing “security reasons“. All the passengers were asked to deplane and were screened. A security personnel at Ahmedabad airport said the flight was diverted as there was a specific bomb threat call. Jet Airways flight pilot alerted Ahmedabad airport authority about bomb and hijackers threat to the flight.
Airport authorities have been put on alert post bomb threats. One threat letter was found from the flight. The letter has been taken into custody of SOG. A joint operation by CISF and SOG was crried out. One person named Birju was arrested.
