Today In the meeting of core committee chaired by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, a lengthy discussion was held on the success achieved with cooperation of people in control of Coronavirus cases in Gujarat.
The Chief Minister made it clear in the meeting that as a result of the co-operation and joint efforts of citizens of the state, doctors of the health community, Gujarat has succeeded in reducing the number of cases of Coronavirus.
In this context, he added that number of cases in state which was 14,500 on April 28 has now come down to 11,000. In this important meeting of Core Committee, in-depth discussions were also held on the restrictions that have been implemented in the state, including night curfew in 36 cities, as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The Chief Minister made it clear that Corona cases have not increased in Gujarat but considering the prevalence of Corona transmission across the country, Gujarat government have decided to maintain night curfew and additional limited restrictions for one more week to keep all the citizens of the state safe.
As per the decision of core committee meeting, the night curfew in 36 cities of the state, including 8 metros, which has been kept till 11th May-201, will be extended from 12 May 21 to 18 May-21 for 7 days from 8 pm to 6 am will remain in force.
Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the small and big traders, industries and people of state for their cooperation in the implementation of additional restrictions including night curfew aimed at curbing the transmission of Corona in the state. He added that joint efforts of all have paid off and the number of Corona cases is declining.
He added that the state government has decided to extend the limited restrictions, including night curfew, by one more week by assessing the situation and to provide more security to the citizens.
