Massive fire at TRP Game Zone in Rajkot claim 24 lives

Today Four people were reportedly booked by Rajkot police after a massive fire reported in city’s TRP Game Zone. In the fire tragedy 24 people died,including 12 children. According to Rajkot Police owner of the game zone is Yuvraj Jadeja. ( other TRP Game Zone owners are MahendraSinh Solanki , Prakash Jain and Rahul Rathore). He had rented out the space to another operator, who fled away the site after fire tragedy. Additionally, 30 to 40 people working at game zone fled the scene after fire incident. Majority of the deceased belonged to Gondal region. All dead bodies have been shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital.

A preliminary investigation suggests that most of the dead were children. Orders have been given to close down all game zones in Rajkot. Thorough scrutiny will be made at all gaming zones in the city. Gujarat government has announced monetary assistance of Rs 4 lakhs to the families of victim and Rs 50,000 to injured. Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the entire incident.

Rajkot fire victims will undergo DNA test. In Ahmedabad also Game zones were closed, checking at Funblast on Sindhu Bhavan Road by fire team.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the fire tragedy of Rajkot through a twitter post.

Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel has also paid tribute to victims of the incident by twitter post. He has ensured immediate relief and rescue in the tragedy.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi rushed to Rajkot. Leaving from Gandhinagar by road, will reach Rajkot late at night. Late night meeting will be held with top police officials and district administration.
Harsh Sanghvi will reach Rajkot and console families of victims in the Game Zone fire accident and will give necessary instructions for injured people. He will guide local adminstration by reviewing rescue and relief operations.


Gujarat DGP Director General of Police has instructed Commissioners of Police and District Superintendents of Police to inspect all game zones in the state and to close game zones running without fire safety permission. DGP has told to carry out the procedure in coordination with Fire Officers of municipalities and local administration. The instructions have been issued in the wake of the Game Zone fire incident in Rajkot city.

Gujarat government is in action regarding TRP Gamezone fire incident. Has Ordered to close all gaming zones in state. Chief Minister instructed administration for rescue and relief operations. SIT under supervision of IPS Subhash Trivedi. Ahmedabad Chief Fire Officer and SIT members leave for Rajkot city.
Ahmedabad-based Fun Blast (gaming zone) has also used 70 percent plastic material. On the other hand, all gaming zones in Ahmedabad have common entry and exit points or gates putting life of players at risk.
