Make In India Week to be held in Feb 2016; Press Meet in Ahmedabad

Today a Press Meet in Ahmedabad was held informing about Make In India Week to be celebrated during 13th to 18th February 2016 in MMRDA Grounds at Bandra Kurla Complex in  Mumbai.

Shri Amitabh Kant, IAS and Secretary DIPP govt of India briefed about Make In India Week celebration in Mumbai. He added that India has made Gujarat has made good industrial progress.

Shri Narendra Modi would inaugurated Make In India Week in Feb 2016 in Mumbai. All states of India would and 75 international delegates would participate in Make In India Week event.

Make In India is a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on indigestion.

“India can urbanize only through technology. Our country is an oasis
of growth, it is growing at 7.4% but it should accelerate to 9-10%.
India’s FDI has gone up by 75% whereas globally it has gone down by
16%. The manufacturing sector should grow at 12-13% and for that to
happen, Gujarat’s manufacturing must grow at 15-16%.

Gujarat accounts for 22% of India’s exports and 8% of India’s GDP. The
State should take a lead in manufacturing sector and contribute
towards promoting India as the most preferred global manufacturing
destination”, said Shri Amitabh Kant, IAS, Secretary DIPP at an
interactive session held in the city today.

With reference to the forth-coming Make in India Week scheduled
between 13 – 18 February at Mumbai, Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII) organized an Interactive Meet for the Make in India week with
Shri Amitabh Kant, IAS, Secretary DIPP and Smt. Kalpana Awasthi, IAS,
Joint Secretary, DIPP, Government of India on Saturday 26 December
2015 at Novotel Hotel, Ahmedabad.

Sharing more about MAKE IN INDIA WEEK, Shri. Kant said “MAKE IN INDIA
WEEK is about making a new India. All the Indian states are going to
participate in the upcoming MAKE IN INDIA WEEK scheduled in Mumbai.
Our focus will be Medium and Small industries and the start-ups”.

Addressing the media, Mr. Arvind Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary
to Government of Gujarat, Industies & Mines Department said “ Gujarat
pavilion will be one of the largest at MAKE IN INDIA week, We have
also organized a special Gujarat investors meet at the event in
Mumbai”.
