Power failure in entire South Gujarat (including Surat,Bharuch,Tapi,Valsad and Raj Pipla) 32.37 lakh consumers remained without power today. Fault detected in 400 KV source line. SLDC and GETCO team busy on restoring power in the region.
As Ukai Power Station had gone down, power failure experienced in 7 districts, 45 talukas, 23 cities and 3461 villages in South Gujarat. All the power plants of Ukai went down. Power could not be restored for 5 hours under hot sun. Train traffic is also likely to be affected, trains will also be stopped. There has been a power crisis in entire in South Gujarat.
A senior official of Bharuch DGVCL said that due to failure of Ukai power plant, electricity has been cut off in the entire south Gujarat. Torrent and Adani’s power supply has also been suspended. Meanwhile, residential, commercial and industrial areas in south Gujarat have become powerless. Due to the power failure, train operations may also be stopped. Bharuch Railway Station official has informed that the railway will not allow Passenger Trains to be affected. The operation of Goods Trains will be stopped.
