Today to celebrate auspicious occasion of Shivratri, Hindu people visit temples and offered special prayers to Lord Shiva temple across India. A huge number of people gathered in the temples of Haridwar and Ujjain to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. PM Narendra Modi sent greetings on the occasion. According to Hindu Mythology, Maha Shivratri is associated with the marriage of Shiva and Parvati and is observed on the 13th night /14th day of the Hindu month of Phalguna every year. Devotees celebrate the auspicious day by fasting.
