Quantum of sentence in Surat Hajira minor girl rape Case was pronounced today, convict in the rape and murder case of 5-years-old girl in Hazira area of Surat was sentenced to life imprisonment till last breath.
Prosecutor has demanded death sentence for convict Sujit Saket. Public prosecutor told the Surat district court that accused was not in good spirits and could pose a threat to safety of other people. Therefore, the accused cannot be kept in jail. An inquiry of 26 different witnesses was presented in court against the accused. In addition, 53 exhibits of documentary evidence were presented.
Convict was booked under IPC 302, 375 and 376 (a) and 376 (b) sections. He has been given rigorous life imprisonment till his death and a compensation of Rs 20 lakhs to victim family.
On announcing of quantum of sentence, convict was excited and threw chappal at Judge, later police arrested the convict.
Porn clip including animal porn and Chinese porn clips were found from convict’smobile.
Earlier investigations revealed that the accused had tried to molest another girl. However, the girl resisted by hitting him with a brick So that she survived. Accused has committed a cruel and heinous act with this minor girl. Significantly, in April, Sujit Saket, a native of Madhya Pradesh, took with him the intention of molesting a 5-years-old girl from a labour class family living in Hazira area with the intention of molesting her. He raped the girl and fled way by killing her.
