Last day to withdraw candidature for 6 Municipal Corporations in Gujarat

Today it is the last day to withdraw candidature for 6 municipal elections. Seven Congress forms have been canceled in four corporations till now. When the battle will be played between some candidates, the picture will be clear by evening.

State Election Commission of Gujarat has announced election schedule for local body elections in the State for 6 Municipal Corporations, 81 Municipalities, 31 District Panchayats and 231 Taluka Panchayats.

Voting for Municipal Corporations will take place on 21 February from 7 am to 6 pm while voting for Municipalities and Panchayats will take place on 28 February from 7 am to 6 pm.

Vote Counting for Municipal Corporation elections will take place on 23 February while for Municipalities and Panchayats, vote counting will take place on 2nd March.

Announcement of election programme 23 January, notification 1st February, last date of filing nominations 6 February, scrutiny of nomination forms 8 February, last date of withdrawal of nominations 9 February, polling 21 February, Repolling if/where required 22 February, Counting 23 February

Municipalities, District and Taluka Panchayats:

Announcement of election programme23 January, notification 8 February, last date of filing nominations 13 February, scrutiny of nominations 15 February, last date of withdrawal of nominations 16 February, polling 28 February, repolling if/where required 1st March, counting 2nd March.

The implementation of the code of conduct in the state started from today.
