Following disturbances in Mehsana post Jail Bharo campaign of April 17, SPG Sardar Patel Group chief Lalji Patel was shifted to Ahmedabad Central Jail and produced before Mehsana as his remand was over, later Laji was sent to Ahmedabad. He emphasized that SPG and PAAS Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti are united. Efforts are on for compromise with state government. Offer of 10 % reservation to Patidar is like a Lolipop. Lalji was arrested on May 3 and produced before Mehsana judicial court on May 4. Pubic Prosecutor on behalf of Police had requested for remand on 11 points posing mastermind of disturbances whereas Court granted 5 days of remand upto May 9. Today on completion of remand Lalji was produced before Mehsana Court. Whereas defending lawyer said that Laji was directly arrested from the spot and treated like internee after taking away his mobile. After hearing arguments from both the parties, court granted 5 days of remand.
