Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Temple and its adjoining properties and lands have been taken over by Shri SJ Chavda, Administrator of Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust under the guidance of Shri Anand Patel, Collector of Banaskantha and a team of other officers on 15/4/2021. These properties include Koteshwar Mahadev Temple and Complex, Gaumukh, Valmiki Ashram, Gaushala and agricultural land etc.
Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust has planned to set up basic facilities for pilgrims, parking, access to temple and ashram, street lights, drinking water facilities, toilets etc. in Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Temple and adjoining places. Whose primary planning is thought to be as follows. Renovation of temples in the existing Koteshwar Mahadev temple complex and removal of old unnecessary structures. Enlarge the temple premises space and develop drinking water, gardens, rest facilities etc., replacement of Gaumukh and water tank. Statues of Saraswati Mataji and other developments on the theme of religious significance of the place, renovation of existing temples and structures on the site of the ashram, library of Ayurvedic books, drinking water and toilet facilities, pilgrimage, parking facilities. Development of cowshed in cowshed, storage for cow fodder, provision of drinking water. It is planned to set up an ayurvedic garden on agricultural land and to provide water facility and compound wall around the land. Koteshwar Dham near Ambaji is a very ancient Shivalaya as well as the source of the river Saraswati.
Mr. CB Sompura, Chairman of Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust and Mr. Anand Patel, Chairman of Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust, had a telephone conversation with Mr. CB Sompura. Gladly agreed to provide free services as an architect required for the development of the Dham. Shri CB Sompura is also the architect of the Shri Ram Temple currently under construction at Ayodhya. He has also served as the architect of many famous temples in India and abroad. A team of architects will soon conduct a survey at Koteshwar and prepare master plans and estimates. With the approval of the project by the Government, action will be taken for the development of Koteshwar Dham on a war footing. Currently, the dilapidated old unused rooms and structures around the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple have been removed and the spaces have been opened. Instructions have also been given to the forest department to take necessary action to make the hills around the Koteshwar Mahadev temple green.
The Saraswati River is one of the main rivers of the Indian Vedic tradition. Efforts to develop the Koteshwar Temple and make it known as a pilgrimage site have been honored by the Shri Ambaji Mandir Trust under the leadership and guidance of Collector Shri Anand Patel. Efforts have been made to organize Saraswati Aarti at Koteshwar in the coming time just like Ganga Aarti. Also Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust Administrator Shri S. J. Chavda has stated.
