Priyanka Chopra is ruling the headlines for quitting Salman Khan’s Bharat. While some say that her engagement with American singer Nick Jonas is the reason, others suspect that she was not happy with her role in the movie.

Any which way, director Ali Abbas Zafar is on a hunt for his new leading lady and if rumors are to be true, he has zeroed in on Katrina Kaif.

According to the reports, it is said, “Katrina will join the team from September onwards, and before that, she will finish all her other work commitments.” It is also being said that Katrina was the “original choice of the movie producers.”
The source further informed, “Producers Atul and Alvira Agnihotri share a warm relationship with Katrina Kaif and when this whole mishap happened, they just called her and sorted out her dates. She will play the lead opposite Salman Khan now.” However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Earlier Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name was also coming forward to replace Priyanka Chopra in the film, but apparently, the actress has given her dates to another film which is why things could not work out. On the other hand, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have always been a hit pair with blockbusters like Tiger Zinda Hai, Ek Tha Tiger and Partner to their credit.
While the leading lady is not confirmed yet, comedian Sunil Grover, who will also be seen in Bharat, shared a video on Twitter, where he is seen auditioning for the female lead of the film. Sunil tweeted the video and wrote, “Application for the vacancy from Nancy.”
