Japan’s Consul General Dr Yasukata Fukahori inaugurates the Centre and an exhibition of photos from the Indo-Japan Foto Fest Contest
23rd June Ahmedabad: The Japan Cultural Centre, an initiative inspired by noted industrialist Smt. Paru Jaykrishna, was inaugurated at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on Friday. The Japan Cultural Centre at AMA has been set up with the support of Asahi Songwon and Aksharchem India.
Dr. Yasukata Fukahori, Hon’ble Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, inaugurated the Centre. Ajay Patel, Chairman of Gujarat State Co-operative Bank and Ahmedabad District Co-Operative Bank, and Takehiko Furukawa, Director General of JETRO Ahmedabad, also graced the occasion.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hon’ble Consul General Dr. Yasukata Fukahori said “It is great to be here at the inauguration of the Japan Cultural Centre at AMA. The Zen-Kaizen Centre at AMA is one of the best Japan-related activities in India. The Japan Cultural Centre will serve as a symbol of the true friendship between India and Japan. I am also confident it will showcase the attractiveness of Japan before the people of India.”
“After the resounding success of the Japanese Language Centre, Japan Information & Study Centre, Japanese Zen Garden and KHS Kaizen Academy at AMA, we take immense pride in introducing the fifth dedicated Activity Centre, the “Japan Cultural Centre”. It is aimed at nurturing friendly relations between Japan and India,” said Mukesh Patel, President, Indo- Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat.
Over the years, the Japan Centres at AMA have enjoyed widespread recognition and goodwill for their vision & mission of making Gujarat the mini-Japan of India. The Japan Cultural Centre is expected to serve as a catalyst in further strengthening the bond between Japan and India, particularly Gujarat.
The dignitaries also launched an Exhibition of selected photos from “The Indo-Japan Foto-Fest Contest”. The Exhibition will remain open to the public from Saturday (June 24) to Tuesday (June 27) from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
