Youngistaan gets entry to the Oscars as an in dependent film under the Best Foreign Language Film category. Youngistaan starring Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma in lead roles. Film also starred late actor Farooq Sheikh in a pivotal role.
Youngistaan is a remake of the Telugu film Leader. The film is the story of a young boy who joins politics after the sudden demise of his father, who was the Prime Minister of India. While it has been sent as an independent entry from India, the list of Oscar nominations will come out in January 2015. Vashu Bhagnani says that this is the biggest award he could get for his movie. “This is much better than any Indian award I would have got,” says the senior filmmaker. Youngistaan is directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal.
