In the Ishrat Jahan encounter case, for the want of evidence Home Minstry denied permission to prosecute former Intelligence Bureau official Rajinder Kumar was informed as per sources. Court had directed CBI to seek permission to register Chargesheet against IB officers. The Central Bureau of Investigation which was handed over the case had sought sanction from the Home Ministry to prosecute Kumar, but the same was denied for the want of evidence. With the denial to prosecute IB officers, 4 IB officers T Mittal, Rajeev Wankhede and M K Sinha have got relief. Now charges agianst IB officers will not be framed and chargesheet is likey to be returned.Recently, Cop N K Amin was reinstated in the Crime Branch, Gujarat.
