ISGE Indian Society of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons  organize 3 days program in Gujarat with Asian Bariatrics

Ahmedabad, 10 th August, 2018

3rd Fellowship course in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery – Bariatric (FALS – Bariatric) will be held in the city by Asian Bariatrics under the aegis of Indian Society of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES). Leading bariatric surgeon and organizing Chairman, Dr. Mahendra Narwaria and organizing Secretary Dr. Sanjay Patolia are leading the three day event with their expertise.

Around 50 national and international faculties will be attending the three-day long event that encompasses seminars, panel discussions and debate. This year the Fellowship course will revolve around topics related to bariatric surgery.

Addressing the media, Dr. Mahendra Narwaria said “It is matter of great pride to organize the fellowship course in Ahmedabad. The number of cases requiring bariatric surgery has gone up in past few years and the demand for the same has accelerated. There are so many centres coming up with bariatric surgery, so our primary concern is patient safety. The thought behind organizing the fellowship course was to make sure that whoever attends the fellowship course can be trained through our national and international faculties through programs like workshop so that they can learn more about the safety of the patients and thereby perform better”.

“This course is going to be one-of-its-kind knowledge sharing platform where apart from garnering knowledge we can impart our recent achievements and developments with the visiting medical faculties from across the world”, further added Dr. Narwaria.

Giving more details of the program, organizing Secretary, Dr. Sanjay Patolia added, “As part of the three-day fellowship course, 15 surgeries will be conducted at Asian Bariatrics Hospital and all the surgeries will be transmitted from the hospital to the venue by use of 3D technology. This will be the first time in the country that the surgery will be transmitted through 3D technology.”
