This year International Kite Festival 2025 will be celebrated from 11th January to 14th January 2025 at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
On 11th January in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state Tourism Minister Mulu Bera and other guests, the International Kite Festival 2025 will inaugurated from Ahmedabad. On 13th January “International Kite Festival” will start at Statue of Unity (Ekta Nagar), Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Shivrajpur and Dhordo.

“International Kite Festival 2025 will be participated by 143 kite flyers from 47 countries and 52 kite flyers from other 11 states of India. Also from 11 cities from Gujarat as many as 417 kite flyers will participate. To boost the development of tourism sector in Gujarat and to attract more tourists to visit the state and local fairs-festivals of the state to become more popular among the people, Gujarat Tourism organizes fairs and festivals to promote the arts, crafts, architecture, religious and sightseeing places of the state.

In Gujarat, the festival of Uttarayan, Makar Sankranti has a special significance. Kite lovers across the state celebrate Uttarayan festival by flying colorful kites in the air. ‘International Kite Festival’ is organized every year to make Uttarayan of Gujarat famous globally and to invite kite flyers from all over countries to fly kites in the state. The ‘International Kite Festival’ plays an important role as part of the promotion of folk culture, arts and crafts and tourism.
Earlier Kite festival which was held only in Ahmedabad city in which is now organized in various districts of the state. This year, ‘International Kite Festival – 2025’ has been organized by Gujarat Tourism from January 11 to January 14. The inauguration ceremony of this International Kite Festival will be held on January 11 at 9 am at the Vallabh Sadan Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
