Indian Aircraft carrier INS Viraat’s dismantling has been kept on hold by the Supreme Court today.
It also served notice to the company that bought the ship from the government to be made into scrap.
The Supreme Court’s order comes on a petition by a group that offered to buy the decommissioned carrier for Rs. 100 crores and convert it into a museum.
Decommissioned aircraft carrier INS Viraat set sail for the last time, on its way to Alang in Gujarat, where it will be broken down and sold as scrap.
