Indian National Congress is celebrating its 139th Foundation Day today. The Congress is all set to kickstart its campaign for next year’s Lok Sabha elections with its mega rally ‘Hain Tayyar Hum’ to be held in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chiefs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will address the rally, according to party leaders.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal announced about the rally, and said, more than 10 lakh party workers from across the country would be in attendance. In the Congress’s long history since its formation on December 28, 1885, the date and time of the year have often seen major developments.
In Ahmedabad at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan Gujarat Congress leaders including Siddharth Patel, Ex GPCC President Arjun Modhwadia, Shailesh Parmar, Himmatsinh Patel and other partymen.
Speaking on the occasion Siddharth Patel recalled contribution of Congress party Sardar Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Dr Manmohan Singh whether it was Jay Jawan Jay Kisan, IT/telecom revolution,Economic reforms, RTI,RTE,MNREGA.
