On Friday,in a Second Test match India and England played in Visakhapatnam, hosts leveled the series at 1-1. by winning the match with a margin of 106 runs. Indian victory was attributed to stellar individual performance through their centuries, of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 209 in 1st innings and Shubman Gill’s 104 in 3rd innings. Also bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s incredible spell of 6/45 in 2nd innings led India to crucil win in the test series against England. Bumrah, who finished with 9 wickets in all, was selected the player of the match for his standout performance and rewarded with a rise to No.1 in the ICC Test bowling rankings, creating history in the process. According to ICC Rankings, Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah becomes first-ever bowler to top all three formats. It is the first time that Bumrah has achieved first rank in Test cricket, and with that he became the first-ever bowler to achieve the position and honor in each of three formats; Test, ODI and T20I. He is also the first Indian pacer to top the ICC Test rankings.
Bumrah is currently the sixth-ranked ODI bowler in the world, but achieved the No.1 ranking for the first time on 17 July 2022, soon after picking up 6/19 against England in the first ODI on India’s tour of the country. He achieved a No.1 ranking in T20Is for the first time in January 2018.
