Magnificent spell of Indian bowler Mohammed Shami who restricted Sri Lanka for a meagre 55, winning their seventh consecutive game in the tournament by winning a mamoth 302 runs to make entry into semifinal of ICC World Cup 2023. Among others, Mohammed Siraj nabbed a three-wicket haul while Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah struck once as well.

Indian batsman Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer gave solid start India with 357/8 score in 50 overs against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Dilshan Madushanka was the pick of the bowlers, becoming only the fourth Sri Lankan to nab a fifer at the ODI World Cup.


In the 33rd match of the ICC World Cup, India qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 302 runs in a one-sided match.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and captain Kusal Mendis decided they would like to bowl first, a decision that made the home fans in the stands.
