Today on 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated as a national festival in India to mark the occasion of the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the “Father of the Nation”. People of India pay tribute to Gandhiji and remember his contribution of getting India freedom with non-violence.
People with Gandhian philosophy visit Gandhi Ashram on this day and remember and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
In Porbandar, birth place various programs are being held at Kirti Mandir in memory of Gadhiji. People including foreigners visit Kiriti Mandir in birth place of Gadhiji.
