As 145th Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath in Ahmedabad city will commence on July 1, Gujarat Police is on alert mode following threat of a suicide attack by Al Qaida, including in Delhi, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. As part of vigilance to prevent any untoward incident during the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad, tight security has been arranged by Ahmedabad police. On the other hand, Gujarat DGP today addressed a press conference and gave details of security arrangements during the Rath Yatra.
GDP Ashish Bhatia said that 145th Rath Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 1 in Ahmedabad city. It is the second largest Rath Yatra in the India. The Rath Yatra will cover a distance of 19 kms and will be attended by one million people. Traffic diversion information has also been released for this purpose.
In Ahmedabad city, more devotees can take part in the Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath this year.
This time 3 chariots and more than 100 trucks to join the Rath Yatra. Help of all people including RTO and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has been taken. A convoy of 4 DIG, 20 SP, 60 DySP has been deployed by Ahmedabad Police to prevent any untoward incident during the Rath Yatra. In addition, 150 PIs, 300 PSIs and 2000 policemen will be deployed in the Rath Yatra.
Apart from Ahmedabad city, Rath Yatras take place at 180 places in Gujarat state. Therefore, 21 companies of SRP and 25 companies of Paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain Law and Order situation in the procession. Out of which 22 companies will be deployed in Ahmedabad city, while 3 will be deployed in other cities of the state.
Not only this, the route of the Rath Yatra will be monitored using 15 Drones. There will be continuous monitoring from Trinetra Control Room in Gandhinagar. While about 1,000 Body Worn Camera will be distributed in all the districts of Gujarat state.
Special outfits prepared for lord Jagannath from his maternal house in Saraspur area of Ahmedabad are kept ready before the Rath Yatra.
