Lifestyle changes and a healthy diet can lead to better results
• Ayurvedic remedies may provide permanent or prolonged relief from illness
Ahmedabad, December 19, 2019: In today’s busy lifestyle, individuals are dealing with skin-related illness due to pollution, work stress and unhealthy meals etc. which has long been hunting the individuals. Often, even after prolonged treatment, the illness does not get cured and the patient eventually becomes depressed. Psoriasis is also one such disease, which is an auto immune disorder.
Systematic treatment and patience can help cure the disease.
As per National Psoriasis Foundation (USA), globally about 125 million people suffer from psoriasis.
In India between 1 to 4 % of people have this problem. Experts say that spreading awareness about symptoms and signs of the disease can be helpful for early diagnosis.
Generally we ignore itching on our skin and in most cases believe it to be an infection. However, a person with such symptoms should consult an expert urgently. Symptoms of reddish and white skin on the skin, cracks on the skin, pus, irritation and itching are common symptoms that can be seen on the elbow, knee or head. The medical science has not yet determined the causes of psoriasis.
However, Ayurveda believes that Psoriasis appears due to imbalance of two doshas – Vata and Kapha. Vata and Kapha doshas manifest in the skin and cause accumulation of toxins.
In the normal person it takes approximately 28 days for the old cells to be replaced and new cells to be formed, but in psoriasis the skin produces new cells in just 4-5 days. These extra cells begin to fill up and cause additional cells to become red, dry and itchy.
Vaid Bhagwan Das Nanakani says, "In Ayurveda psoriasis treatment is possible. Psoriasis can be controlled by making a few lifestyle changes. Sometimes changing the geographical location i.e. changing the place of residence can be helpful. Also, it is imperative to avoid extremely hot or very cold water for bath. Regular dose of walnuts or nuts can be taken useful, but, a person should avoid milk, yogurt, butter, bananas, Peru or Maida. Appropriate changes in lifestyle and avoiding unhealthy food may also provide certain relief.”
Regular exposure to weather (extremely cold), tobacco and alcohol contributes for psoriasis. WBCs (White Blood Cells) work to protect the body from illnesses, and the ability to prevent illness is called immunity. If a person has psoriasis that means his/her immune system is weak.
Taking medication with healthy lifestyle can control psoriasis or can provide relief from the disease for a long time. If Ayurvedic treatment is given at the onset of illness, the chances of getting rid of psoriasis are high. The primary purpose of Ayurvedic treatment is the purification of blood and cells.
Toxins are cleansed from the body and digestion is improved by preventing its accumulation, which can produce good results. In addition, the cost is also comparatively low and a person can live a normal life without any hassle.
