Today Gujarat government appointed Jagruti Pandya, wife of BJP leader Haren Pandya, as the new chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Pandya will have a 3 year tenure as per the communication from Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
Jagruti contested from Ellisbridge her husband’s constituency in 2012 Gujarat Assembly election against Rakesh Shah of BJP from GPP Gujarat Parivartan Party. The party was formed by former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel. The party later merged with BJP in 2014.
