Both operatives of the Indian Mujahideen were detained in Saudi Arabia and their extradition treaty with India is being worked out with Riyadh. Both operatives were wanted for supplying explosives for the Dilsukhnagar, Zaveri Bazaar and Ahmedabad blasts. Investigating agencies feel that the two operatives could have been involved in the murder of ex Home Minister of Gujarat Haren Pandya in 2003 Extradition of Abideen and Sufiyan will bring a closure to the murder case. The explosives trail relating to the operations of the Indian Mujahideen too would be solved, as per agency.
