Hardik Pandya packs up Bangladesh innings; wins faith of Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was all praise for young Hardik Pandya, who held his nerve during the last few moments and executed the instructions brilliantly by not bowling a yorker to Shuvagato Hom, which could have turned into a full-toss. Dhoni had shown faith in Hardik who had fulfilled Skipper’s expectations in a very crucial 20th over in World Cup T20 match against Bangladesh.

Hardik’s Hat-trick performance made India win against Bangladesh.

Exclusive Talk with Hardik’s Father

Hardik’s father Himanshubhai said he has played well in all 3 departments of bowling, batting and fielding. His last 3 balls of 20th over 4th,5th and 6th ball changed the game in our favour. We prayed for Hardik’s best performance in  World Cup by praying at temple in Nadiad. SachinSir is his role model.

There were quite a few stuff we were discussing, one thing was for sure, we did not want him (Hardik) to bowl a yorker. It had to be a back of a length, but how back of a length, that was the question. You don’t want to bowl a wide. We were deciding out field and I think he executed really well. It’s nice to have hood plans but the plan only looks good when it is executed well,” Dhoni said at post-match presentation ceremony. One day, when Hardik Pandya sits down to reflect on his career, he will realise the 2015 IPL season was his breakthrough moment – in that tournament,  Domestic career.

With tough days behind him, Hardik is today making a strong case for himself as an ideal candidate for the fast-bowling all-rounder India have been looking for in the shorter formats of the game. Hardik’s dressing sense and his hairstyle have earned him the nickname ‘Rockstar’ by his MI teammates. For now, Hardik is living up to his name in the Indian jersey. My son is a ‘special hat-trick’ achiever: Hardik father “It may not be a hat-trick in cricketing terms, but technically we shall call it a special hat-trick”, says Himanshu Pandya, the father, from his Baroda home. “We wonder if the hat-trick in a Test match can be spread over two different innings, why can’t it be done so in limited overs matches. “Our son is not the “unlucky” bowler (for not being in the list of the hat-trick bowlers) but wel call him a special hat-trick achiever”, he further added.

Hardik has a habit of jumping on ground to celebrate his success on field. “Yes, that is his style of celebrations. Whenever he takes a wicket, or grabs the catch or succeeds in batting, he can’t control himself and jumps on the ground”.

Hardik and his brother, Krunal Pandya are being trained by Ajay Pawar in Kiran More’s academy.

“This reminds us Tendulkars. Krunal is now sacrificing for Hardik’s success like what Ajit Tendulkar did it for his younger brother Sachin”, Pawar said from Baroda. Hardik Pandya clicks a selfie with his Mother.
