In 2002 Gulberg Society massacre a special court on Friday awarded life imprisonment to 11 persons convicted for murder, 12 were given 7 years imprisonment and one was given 10 years jail, one of the worst affected Muslim locality in Ahmedabad affected by the post-Godhra riots where 69 people including ex Congress MP Ahsan Jafri were killed on February 28, 2002.
The court said the incident was “darkest phase of civil society”.
