Today in Gandhinagar, new Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani took oath and Nitin Patel as Deputy Chief Minister in an oath ceremony at Mahatma Mandir in Vijay Muhurat at 12:39 pm.
In new Gujarat Cabinet of 25 ministers took oath as state and cabinet ministers. Some existing ministers continued to be in new Cabinet ministry.
In selecting new ministers, factors of Patidars and Dalits might have been considered by BJP high command in wake of prevailing situation in Gujarat and upcoming elections in 2017.
Today out of 25 cabinet ministers 8 Patidars, 8 OBCs, 2 ST, 2 SC, 1 Jain, 1 Sindhi, 1 Brahmin and 3 Kshtriya have been inducted, as per actual statistics.
