The Gujarat government plans to device its new tourism policy with a focus on eco-tourism within a month, Gujarat Finance and Tourism Minister Saurabh Patel said in Gandhinagar.
He said that the policy would aim on developing eco-tourism destinations across Gujarat, besides promotion of wildlife tourism. The policy would replace the existing policy which was announced in 2009, he said.
“The new tourism policy will be announced within a month and we are working on it right now. Through the policy, we will try to develop tourist destinations. We want toboost eco-tourism as well as wildlife tourism through this policy,” Patel said.
To identify such destinations across Gujarat, the tourism department has roped in the forest department.
“There are many destinations across the state which are close to nature and can be developed as tourist spots.
