Gujarat Government’s Urban Development Department has decided to provide 5,19,157 sq m of land, rendered surplus as per the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act in 6 municipal corporation areas of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat,Rajkot,Bhavnagar and Jamnagar, to build over 35,000 residential units with basic amenities for the urban poor under affordable housing scheme.
CM Anandiben Patel’s decision to handover the Revenue Department’s surplus land for affordable houses for the needy in ‘Gatisheel Gujarat’. City-wise breakup is Ahmedabad 82,623 sq. m, Vadodara 76,311 sq. m, Surat 37,711 sq. m, Rajkot City and Rural 2,33,423 sq. m, Bhavnagar 55,215 sq. m. and Jamnagar 33,873 sq. m.
