Gujarat regional connectivity will start by end of 2017.
With a view to boost regional connectivity by developing 11 airports, the Gujarat government today signed MoU Memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Civil Aviation under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). It may be mentioned that, Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, RCS scheme has been given boost in National Civil Aviation Policy-2016 to develop civil aviation sector and aviation infrastructure.
Under this connectivity scheme airport of Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Surat, Porbandar, Mehsana, Mandvi, Amreli, Kandla, Keshod and Deesa, will be developed, which falls under un-served-underserved category.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed here in presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Gajapathi Raju and Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani. State Government concentrates on making available most suitable commercial atmosphere to make Gujarat as aviation hub.
This MoU has been signed to develop the 11 air-strips / airports which are in working or not in working position, so that the state aviation sector may develop in more efficient way to provide easy connectivity to the passengers of state. The infrastructural development will take place as per the RCS of civil aviation ministry.
