Amid rising protests by Kshatriyas/Rajputs in Gujarat on Union Minister Parshottam Rupala’s alleged comments against them, some members of the community on Saturday reached the venue of a public meeting of Gujarat BJP president C R Patil at Khambhalia town in Devbhumi Dwarka, and demonstrated black flags while raising slogans.

Similarly in Ahmedabad, as five Kshatriya women threatened to perform “jauhar” (self-immolation) at BJP headquarters Kamalam in Gandhinagar, police detained national convenor of Karni Sena, Mahipal Singh Makrana, when he went to meet the women. Also, villagers in Narmada, Chhota Udepur and Bharuch led by Kshatriya community raised banners banning entry of BJP leaders into the area for campaign unless and until party withdraws Rupala’s nomination as BJP Lok Sabha 2024 candidate over Rajkot seat.
