Today in Ahmedabad, professors of various academic institutes of Gujarat has written letters in support of Jawaharlal Nhru University students sent to jail. Gujarat professors including Urvi Desai, Seema Khanwilker of CEPT university, Alka Parikh of DAIICT, Mansi Sinh of Central University, Kingson Patel, Mohandas Singh and Parvati Iyer of PDPU have written open letters in their own hand writing. In the letter concern has been expressed over tackling of JNU issue. 67 professors have given their signatures in support whereas 2 professors have withdrawn their signatures. Professors have written over exepression of freedom in demonstrations at JNU. They have touched upon aspects of financial, social and intellectual freedom. It was supported by faculty of IIM, CEPT university, Centre for Development Alternatives, PDPU, Gujarat Institute of Development Research. IIT Gandhinagar, Centre for Social Studies-Surat, Institute of Rural Management Anand has demanded probe in JNU and Patiyala House incidents.
