Gujarat IPS Vipul Vijoy served with notice by Human Rights Commission for making 15 police hostage

In a recent development in Gujarat IPS Vipul Vijoy allegedly locking 15 Police staff in his bungalow, Human Rights Commission has served him with notice and demanded his explanation.

Gujarat IPS Vipul Vijoy Bungalow of Karai Academy at Gandhinagar made 15 Police Officers as hostage without food and electricity including 1 PI, 12 ASI and 4 drivers. All hostages were kept in the garage of the bungalow. Due to initiative by one electronic media the matter came out and state home ministry got alert with top officials reaching the spot.Vipul Vijoy is 1983 batch IPS officer. He was sent on leave till the enquiry by department is over.

Additional Director General of Police Vipul Vijoy, accused of having kept 17 policemen in illegal confinement in his garage, today vacated his bungalow in the campus of the state police training school at Karai and shifted to the Indian Police Officers’ mess.Gujarat government has instituted a departmental inquiry against Mr Vipul by state home guards chief H P Singh following the charge of keeping his subordinate policemen locked in his garage for more than 16 hours without food and water.
