In the ongoing Budget Session in Gujarat Legislative Assembly of Gujarat government, state Home Minister of State in reply to a question on “discrimination” against women IPS officers, cited and appreciated DGP Neerja Gotru Head of Police Recruitment Board, Additional DGP Nipuna Torwane, principal secretary (home), and Lavina Sinha.
Minister added that among 208-officer of state cadre, 34 IPS officers were women. Responding to a separate question on the cadre, the minister explained that only 24 officers from the state were on Central deputation against the quota of 45 from Gujarat.
