Gujarat High Court stays Hardik Patel’s jail term in Mehsana rioting case
In 2015 Mehsana riot case, Relief to Patidar leader and PAAS Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti convener Hardik Patel was granted by Gujarat High Court. The stay order was passed by Justice SH Vora until the next hearing.
Lalji Patel of SPG Sardar Patel Group and AK Patel were charged with a jail term. 14 other accused were acquitted by the court.
A mob of up to 500 people had turned violent and vandalised the then BJP legislator Rushikesh Patel’s office during a rally organised in 2015 to demand job and educational quota for the Patel community.
