In handling of Covid-19 patients in Ahmedabad Civil Hospital Gujarat High Court has taken suo moto cognisance of the precautionary measures in the wake of the pandemic of coronavirus (Covid-19).
A bench comprising Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ashutosh J. Shastri initiated the petition, and has issued 8 orders, granting an entire spectrum of relief for various classes of individuals. Another bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Ilesh Vora, has issued 3 orders.
There was a rumor of Justice Pardiwala and Justice Vora being transferred with immediate order. There is a roster is maintained by the High Court to assign the matters between various benches and power of assiging matter to different justice rests with Chief Justice based on merits of the case. As per roster, Chief Justice of Gujarat High court and Justice Pardiwala will now hear the Suo Moto petition.
