Gujarat gets good monsoon season with 3 inches of rain in many Saurashtra region

Monsoon season has started across Gujarat as downpours were recorded in 84 talukas in last 24 hours. Rains experienced several urban and surrounding areas since early morning today. Tankara of Morbi taluka received the highest rainfall of 4.25 inches, followed by Kodinar of Gir-Somnath with 3 inches, Gondal and Junagadh with 3 inches each, Danta with 2.25 inches, Jetpur and Sutrapada with 2 inches each, Kalavad and Mendarda with 1.75 inches each, Veraval and Wankaner with 1.5 inches each, Idar, Umarpada, Morva Hadaf and Mangrol with 1.25 inches each of rain.One inch of rain was received in Halvad, Dabhoi, Chhotaudepur, and Jamnagar’s Lalpur regions respectively. As per IMD India Meteorological Department forecast, heavy rains were likely in talukas including Banaskantha, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari, and Valsad today. Light to moderate rains were also likely in talukas including Kutch, Morbi, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Botad, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhotaudepur, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi, and Dang.
