Today, Gujarat government moved the Supreme Court challenging Gujarat High Court order’s quashing an ordinance on 10 % quota for EBC Economically Backward Classes among the unreserved category. The government of Gujarat had announced a 10 per cent provision for EBC quota which was earlier quashed by the Gujarat High Court. After the repeal of the provision by a division bench of Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice V M Pancholi, the Gujarat government had said that it would appeal in the apex court regarding the EBC quota.
