Gujarat government that the state-level celebrations of the 69th Independence Day will be held in Lunawada of Mahisagar district. Every year Independence Day by Gujarat government is celebrated outside capital city of Gandhinagar for past many years.
As per an official communication released today , Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will hoist the tricolor at Lunawada along with Gujarat Governor O P Kohli, ministers and other dignitaries.
On the August 14 morning, CM will arrive at Lunawada to take part in various programs in the district. On that day, the Chief Minister will remain present at a program in Santrampur village, where financial assistance to tribals will be given . Later, she will address a gathering of local women in Virpur village, the release stated. On that day, she will dedicate five projects worth Rs 44.02 crore and perform ground breaking ceremony for three other projects worth Rs 69 crore in different parts of the district, said sources.
Preparation for I-Day are in full swing with lighting and decoration all around. Security in the area has been tightened due to visit to state VIPs.
