Ahmedabad: After starting Std 12 schools in Gujarat, government has decided to start 9th to 11th class from July 26. Although people under age of 18 have not been vaccinated for Coronavirus, parents and school administrators will need to follow certain rules. Doctors are advising to send only those students whose parents have been vaccinated in the begining. In the state second wave of Corona has subsided but there is a fear of third wave. The case of Kappa variant and Delta variants are coming up. State government has also instructed to start classes in Std. 9 to 11 from July 26. Pressure from private school administrators to start government schools is also being considered as a reason.
On the one hand, school administrators have to pay more attention to the safety of students when we have not vaccinated people below age of 18 in state. Dr. Sahil Shah, Joint Secretary, Ahmedabad Medical Association, said that school administrators have to take special care before calling students to school. Administrators will have to see if their teachers, principals and other staff have been vaccinated. The school has to call students in class in an odd even manner and arrange the seating in such a way that social distance is maintained.
