Today felicitation program of Congress MP Member of Parliament Ganiben Thakor was organized at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in Ahmedabad.
Mukul Wasnik, Incharge of Gujarat Congress and senior MP, said that the victory of Ganiben has increased enthusiasm and hope among Congress workers. Geniben Thakor winning the election from Banaskantha means the victory is like a flower blooming on a stone. Congress party was hoping that we will win more seats, but got only one seat. However, Congress will strongly present the voice of Gujarat in Delhi Parliament. Party National President Mallikarjun Khadge will hold a meeting with the local leaders. Preparations for the upcoming Kheda-Banaskantha district panchayat including local swaraj elections will be started from now. Gujarat Congress political advisory meeting will be called and senior leaders will be given responsibility. Preparations will be made for local swaraj elections instead of Lok Sabha. For the last 10 years, only one ideology reached the Lok Sabha. The original Sardar-Gandhi ideology will reach through Ganiben.
In the felicitation ceremony organized at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President and Rajya Sabha MP Shaktisinh Gohil congratulated newly elected MP Ganiben and said that people of all classes, castes of Gujarat have given public support and blessings to the Congress party and Ganiben. Along with honoring Ganiben, Congress party workers, district presidents and candidates of Lok Sabha who have worked hard in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 were also honoured.
Gujarat Legislative Assembly Congress Party leader Amit Chavda while addressing said that the national leader of the Congress party in the entire India, Rahulji has covered 4000 km. More than 6700 km after doing the historic ‘Bharat Jodo Padayatra’. Through the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, lakhs of citizens of the country came together to listen to their pains and problems which were reflected in the Congress Party’s Nyaya Sankalp. The accounts of the Congress party were frozen on the basis of a very trivial issue which could not be sustained. In this election fought amidst many difficulties, people have defeated the arrogance of BJP in Gujarat.

The people of Banaskantha did a great job by stopping BJP’s hat-trick. I express my gratitude and congratulations to every worker of Congress for their hard work. The people of Banaskantha know that when democracy is violated. They voted to save democracy. If there is injustice anywhere, I will give justice to the worker. I will try to give voice to life issues of entire Gujarat along with Banaskantha.
I contested elections in 1995 when I was only 18 years old, I contested 9 elections from Panchayat to Parliament. Whatever I am today, I owe it to the Congress Party. When I asked for votes for Lok Sabha for the first time, people gave both votes and money. Priyanka Gandhi’s meeting created a good atmosphere for the Congress in Banaskatha. Congress workers of Banaskantha worked diligently. I can never repay the debt of Congress party. I was glad when I went to resign today.
Geniben Thakor has won from Banaskantha Lok Sabha constituency from Gujarat in the Lok Sabha 2024 elections.
