Following Surgical strike along LoC by Indian Army last night, the security along the 1600 km long coastal border as well as land border along Pakistan in three districts of Gujarat has been beefed up in the wake of the surgical strike by the Indian Forces on the terrorist camps in PoK. Today Nitin Patel Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat said Vijay Rupani Gujarat CM was closely monitoring the border security in the state while the Additional Chief Secretary of the home department of Gujarat was coordinating with various authorities of the armed forces and security agencies. The Chief Minister has also had a talk with the union home minister. ‘The union government has instructed to vacate the area up to 10 km from the border but in Gujarat which has land border with Pakistan in three districts Kutch, Banskantha and Patan, there was no populated village in that range. The nearest village to the Pakistan border in these districts was at 25 km distance,’ he said. Applauding the surgical strike, Mr Patel said that the BSF along Pakistan border in Gujarat has heightened the vigil while the Indian Navy and Coast-guard are guarding the waters closer to Pakistan in the Arabian sea. The Air Force stations in Gujarat has also be put on alert.‘The Additional Chief Secretary of the home department of the state is coordinating with the senior officials of the security forces including the IGP of BSF.We have also asked the 22 coastal police stations which comes directly under state government’s purview to remain alert,’ the Deputy CM said.
