Today a one-day workshop was held in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for the Commissioners, Administrators, Collectors and other officials of the 9 newly formed Municipal Corporations in the state.Chief Minister Patel said in his address that the decision to convert 9 municipalities into Municipal Corporations at once in the history of the state shows commitment of Gujarat government for the pace of planned urban development. He added that the state government is moving forward to make Vikshit Gujarat developed with sound urban development planning to realize the vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat 2047’ made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister advocated ensuring that all the services and facilities available to citizens continue to be available during this transitional period, when the municipality has been converted into a municipal corporation.
