Gujarat CM reviews flood situation in North Gujarat; relief package soon

Today Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel took first hand review of relief and rescue operations to ensure normalcy at earliest in flood affected regions of North Gujarat. While officials are trying to restore electricity and water supply, work in most areas incl worst hit Banaskantha will be completed in 2-3 days. Several NDRF, BSF, IAF and Indian Army teams have joined efforts to expedite relief and rescue operations and more are expected to join tomorrow. During relief operations in North Gujarat, 16 sorties were made and 71 affected people were rescued by helicopters and moved to safer locations.

Damage to crop & property will be assessed after waters recede & relief will be extended as per the package announced for Amreli was stated by Gujarat CM. Anandiben directed officials to extend healthcare facility and carry out cleanliness and chlorination drive to avoid outbreak of epidemics.
