Today, Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel launched Gujarat Dipotsvi in Gandhinagar.
“It is our collective responsibility to preserve and nurture our great Gujarati cultural heritage,” Mrs. Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat told here at a function held to release the ‘Gujarat Dipotsvi – 2070’ edition.
“The words and literatures are playing pioneering roles in nurturing the prideful heritage and virtues of Garvi Gujarat,” the Chief Minister further added.
The Chief Minister said, “The Deepavali is the festival of lights. Thus, we must celebrate it as ‘The Festival of Development’ for removing the darkness of ignorance. The real perception of Gujarat’s khamir (guts) and zamir (consciousness) have been envisaged in ‘Gujarat Dipotsvi – 2070’ edition by noted Gujarati litterateurs, intellectuals and academicians through the power of their writings.” Speaking on the occasion, Mr. G. C. Murmu, the Principal Secretary of Gujarat Information Department, said, under the leadership of Gujarat’s first woman Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel, vibrancy has been experienced in the state’s uninterrupted Development Yatra.
“Continuing its tradition, the current issue of ‘Gujarat Dipotsvi – 2070’” will surely satisfy the reading-appetite of avid Gujarati readers,” Mr. Murmu added.
Gujarat’s Information Commissioner, Mr. Bhagyesh Jha said, ‘The Gujarat Dipotsvi – 2070’ issue, valued at Rs 40/-, contains 32 articles, 35 short-stories, 20 comedy plays, five plays and 97 poems.
The Information Department has made a sincere attempt through this issue to echo Gujarat’s heritage in arts, culture, literature, and history.
Others who had graced the occasion included editorial team members: Mr. Arvind Patel, Mr. Pulak Trivedi, Mr. K. A. Karamata, Mr. Jagdish Acharya, Mr. Ratilal Turi, Mrs. Urviben Raval and others. They all were congratulated by Mrs. Patel for their commandable job.
