After Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, Gujarat has become 6th state to implement GST the Goods and Services Tax Constitution Amendment Bill. It was cleared in Monsoon Session of Gujarat Assembly today. Earlier this month the bill was passed by Parliament. The Lok Sabha passed the bill and the centre, which has set itself a tough deadline of April 1 next year for implementation of GST, has sent it soonest to India’s 29 states, at least 15, or half, of which must approve it. The centre has said it expects 16 states to clear GST in the next 30 days. The BJP governs nine states on its own and four along with allies. Gujarat is one of such states.
With this the two-day monsoon session of Gujarat Assembly has concluded today.
